Installation: Shower Base

Shower Base Installation Instructions:

  1. Verify style and all measurements.
  2. Trial fit the shower base. The base should be installed pre-drywall, leaving at least 1/8” gap between the base and wall studs to allow for expansion and contraction due to temperature changes. Shower base should not be a tight fit.  Make sure the base is level. Nail or glue shims to floor.
  3. Base should be set in a bed of mortar, with plastic between floor and base, for leveling and complete support of the bottom.
  4. Install the drain according to the manufacturer’s directions. A good quality silicone sealant should be used under the drain collar and bottom washer. Tighten the nut to finger tight plus ½ to 1 turn. It is important that you do not overtighten the drain. Wipe off access silicone immediately.  Do not use plumber’s putty.

Care instructions:

The high-quality gel coat surface is designed to resist most liquids and retain a high gloss finish. The following care should be taken to ensure the life of the product:

  • Avoid extreme water temperatures. Hot water should not exceed 140°F or below.
  • Do not use any abrasive cleaners. Use a sponge and mild soap to clean the surface.
  • A frequent coat of automotive paste wax will help repel water, restore the shine, and make cleaning easier.

Depending on the size and configuration, there is no guarantee that 100% of the water will drain from all areas.

Not following the above guidelines will void your warranty.
